About Me
If there is no freedom in expression, there is no art.
A Passionate Artist
Welcome to Artgene Hub, the creative world of Eugene Uchenna, a Lagos-based artist passionate about realism painting, sculpture, and innovative mixed-media art. My journey into the world of art began in childhood, sketching imaginary comics with my elder brother and friends. Over the years, my passion evolved into a full-fledged artistic career, blending traditional techniques with experimental materials to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
Philosophy & Inspiration
“If there is no freedom in expression, there is no art.” – This belief drives my creative process. I see art as a powerful tool for storytelling, observation, and transformation.
My Artistic Journey
I specialize in realism painting, ceramic sculpture, and leather assemblage art. My works are inspired by urban life, human experiences, and socio-political themes, with a focus on texture and storytelling.
Lagos, a city of energy and contrasts, serves as my muse, influencing much of my work. Through my art, I aim to capture emotions, spark conversations, and leave a lasting impression.
Exhibitions & Achievements
Over the years, I have participated in various art workshops, exhibitions, and residencies, including:
✔ Harmattan Workshop (Bruce Onobrakpeya Foundation) – Assistant Facilitator
✔ Wonderful Ceramic Factory – Internship
✔ Universal Studio of Art – Industrial Attachment
